CHANNEL 10 NEWS STORY ABOUT LAS COLINAS HOURS OF OPERATION
Las Colinas Detention Facility will continue to be closed to the public between the hours of 10:30pm and 6:30am. Inmates can be bailed out of this jail. However, inmates cannot be released from Las Colinas unless they have a ride home with a friend or family member. A taxi cab is not considered a ride home for the safety of the inmate. If no ride is available the inmate will be released after 7am.

Update. Since this story aired the phones from the jails have been updated and calls can be made to cell phones with the same area code. Any calls outside the jail area code will still be collect. Cell phones can receive collect calls from the jail but you better have your credit card ready before the call will be connected. Don't drink and drive. If you drink and drive in San Diego, plan on getting arrested and going to jail. If you don't have any phone numbers memorized, write down a phone number on your hand of a "designated person" to bail you out of jail. Otherwise you will be in jail for 3 to 5 days depending on the day you're arrested.
